South Camden Community School

South Camden Community School

Regent High School (RHS), formerly South Camden Community School (SCCS), is a co-educational comprehensive secondary school in Somers Town, in the London Borough of Camden, England. The name was changed in 2012 in an attempt to shed what staff feared was a "negative perception" of the school rooted in its past. Formerly, from 1951, it was known as Sir William Collins Secondary School for boys only. Since 2011 the school has been involved in an extensive rebuilding and refurbishment programme which will be completed in 2013. The school's accreditations include Healthy Schools, Sportmark, Leading Parent Partnership award and International Schools status. The last Ofsted inspection for SCCS published in July 2011 rated the school as 'satisfactory'.

Famous quotes containing the words south, community and/or school:

I need not tell you of the inadequacy of the American shipping marine on the Pacific Coast.... For this reason it seems to me that there is no subject to which Congress can better devote its attention in the coming session than the passage of a bill which shall encourage our merchant marine in such a way as to establish American lines directly between New York and the eastern ports and South American ports, and both our Pacific Coast ports and the Orient and the Philippines.
    William Howard Taft (1857–1930)

He thought that, because the community represents millions of people, therefore it must be millions of times more important than the individual, forgetting that the community is an abstraction from the many, and is not the many themselves.
    —D.H. (David Herbert)

I go to school to youth to learn the future.
    Robert Frost (1874–1963)
