Sorbs - Diaspora

Diaspora

There were two major migrations of both Upper and Lower Sorbs to Australia. They occurred in 1848 and 1850 respectively. The diaspora settled in the states of South Australia, Victoria, and New South Wales. The very first individual wend (sorb) to go to Australia was Jan Rychtar, A Moravian Brethren missionary who settled in Syndey, New South Wales in 1844.

The Sorbs (wends) also migrated from Lusatia to the United States of America (Wends of Texas).
