Solid Silver is the eighth album by American psychedelic rock band Quicksilver Messenger Service and their mid-70s comeback album. Although the songs were much shorter than on their classic late 1960s albums, Solid Silver has generally been considered a "comeback" because the original line-up found on their first two albums had temporarily reunited.
Though the album charted slightly higher than their previous two released, briefly denting the Top 100 on the Billboard 200, this would be the last Quicksilver album until Gary Duncan resurrected the Quicksilver name in 1986 with the album Peace by Piece and again in the 90's with several albums.

Famous quotes containing the words solid and/or silver:
“In our world of big names, curiously, our true heroes tend to be anonymous. In this life of illusion and quasi-illusion, the person of solid virtues who can be admired for something more substantial than his well-knownness often proves to be the unsung hero: the teacher, the nurse, the mother, the honest cop, the hard worker at lonely, underpaid, unglamorous, unpublicized jobs.”
—Daniel J. Boorstin (b. 1914)
“I had a little nut-tree, nothing would it bear
But a golden nutmeg and a silver pear;”
—Mother Goose (fl. 17th18th century. I had a little nut-tree, nothing would it bear (l. 12)
