Socialist Organizing Network

The Socialist Organizing Network was a socialist group in the U.S. that formed in the early 1990s out of the dissolution of the League of Revolutionary Struggle (M-L) (LRS). When the LRS dissolved, the Socialist Organizing Network grouped together ex-LRS members who still wanted to build a socialist organization. Socialist Organizing Network published a bilingual (English-Spanish) newsletter called 'Moving Forward'. The Socialist Organizing Network merged into Freedom Road Socialist Organization in 1994.

Famous quotes containing the words socialist, organizing and/or network:

Democracy is the wholesome and pure air without which a socialist public organization cannot live a full-blooded life.
    Mikhail Gorbachev (b. 1931)

Abolitionists were men of sharp angles. Organizing them was like binding crooked sticks in a bundle.
    Jane Grey Swisshelm (1815–1884)

A culture may be conceived as a network of beliefs and purposes in which any string in the net pulls and is pulled by the others, thus perpetually changing the configuration of the whole. If the cultural element called morals takes on a new shape, we must ask what other strings have pulled it out of line. It cannot be one solitary string, nor even the strings nearby, for the network is three-dimensional at least.
    Jacques Barzun (b. 1907)
