Hopes and Visions
Inspired by the success story of many LGU’s (Local Government Unit) that had been developed and became progressive though tourism activities, the local government unit of Silago is doing its best to grab possible developmental opportunities through tourism programs and activities as these are given priority consideration both by the national and provincial government. Being a fourth class municipality, it cannot be denied that it needs assistance and support from other outside sources in order to develop its bountiful gift of nature, and generate income through these gifts. As it looks forward to becoming one of the tourist destinations in the province, determined to eradicate poverty in its jurisdiction, it will continue to discover more of its natural wealth ready to be developed and improved, and welcomes any interested individual / investor who is willing to participate in the pursuit of this noble undertaking.
Why Invest at Silago? Silago is a place that takes two-hour travel from the DZR Airport, Tacloban City, Leyte, the center of Region 8. Major carriers serve direct Manila-Tacloban flights daily. From Tacloban City, air-conditioned shuttle vans and ordinary fare buses are available going to Silago. Aside from being a peaceful town, Silago is a consistent awardee of the clean and green program as cleanest and greenest municipality in Southern Leyte, where good and friendly people reside.
Silago Hymn
O, lungsod kong mahal ikaw akong ampingan
Tuburan sa kinabuhi sa mga lumulupyo
Ikaw ang pag-laum nga nagagikan sa sidlakan
Ikaw akong pangga-on ug akong mahalon

Parokya ni Señor Santiago Apostol Patron sa Silago (St. James the Apostle Parish) (Parish Hymn)
Kalipay namong mga Silagonhon
Usa ka gasa ang among naangkon
Sa among katilingban siya ang gisaligan
Siya among gitahod isip among manlalaban
Nagmaisugon siya sa pagmantala
Sa Apostolikanhong pagtoo
Sa mga Apostoles siya ang unang ehemplo
Pagpaambit sa kalis sa kasakit ni Hesukristo
CHORUS:
Senior Santiago Apostol, Patron sa Silago
Bantugang manlalaban sa mga katalagman
Ang kinabuhi mong balaanon among subayon
Kang Hesukristo kami mahigugmaon ug mo-alagad
Sa tanang panahon
Sa kakabos, suliran, ug kasakitan
Gugma, kalinaw, ug kahiusahan
Uban kanimo sa Dios among pangayoon
Ang iyang panalipod, panalangin,
Lamdag ug bendisyon
BRIDGE:
Senior Santiago Apostol among Patron
Higala kang tinuod ug takos pasidunggan
Kaming tanan manghinaot nga pinaagi kanimo
Nga sa kanunay sa Dios kami may pagto-o.
Nga sa kanunay sa Dios kami may pagto-o

Famous quotes containing the words hopes and, hopes and/or visions:
“But O, young beauty of the woods,
Whom Nature courts with fruits and flowers,
Gather the flowers, but spare the buds;
Lest Flora, angry at thy crime
To kill her infants in their prime,
Do quickly make the example yours;
And ere we see,
Nip in the blossom all our hopes and thee.”
—Andrew Marvell (16211678)
“Man who man would be,
Must rule the empire of himself; in it
Must be supreme, establishing his throne
On vanquished will, quelling the anarchy
Of hopes and fears, being himself alone.”
—Percy Bysshe Shelley (17921822)
“Time for you and time for me,
And time yet for a hundred indecisions,
And for a hundred visions and revisions,
Before the taking of a toast and tea.”
—T.S. (Thomas Stearns)
