Short Story is a piece for violin and piano composed by George Gershwin in 1927.
Gershwin composed the duet from two other short works that premiered at the same time as his Three Preludes. He combined a section of the "Novelette in Fourths" and another slower work (the forgotten "Rubato" prelude) to create this piece.
Famous quotes containing the words short and/or story:
“Still let my tyrants know, I am not doomed to wear
Year after year in gloom, and desolate despair;
A messenger of Hope comes every night to me,
And offers for short life, eternal liberty.”
—Emily Brontë (18181848)
“This story is no good, Im almost beginning to believe it.”
—Samuel Beckett (19061989)
