Hernandez has a daughter named Liz from a previous marriage. She is a powerlifter at Refugio High School who won the silver medal in Class 2A at 181 pounds at the 2009 Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association and a gold medal in the same category at the 2010 Texas High School Women's Powerlifting Association.
