Famous quotes containing the words amazing, race and/or asia:
“Adolescents are travelers, far from home with no native land, neither children nor adults. They are jet-setters who fly from one country to another with amazing speed. Sometimes they are four years old, an hour later they are twenty-five. They don’t really fit anywhere. There’s a yearning for place, a search for solid ground.”
—Mary Pipher (20th century)
“It doesn’t matter whether you’re talking about bombs or the intelligence quotients of one race as against another ... if a man is a scientist, like me, he’ll always say “Publish and be damned.””
—Jacob Bronowski (1908–1974)
“I believe that the fundamental proposition is that we must recognize that the hostilities in Europe, in Africa, and in Asia are all parts of a single world conflict. We must, consequently, recognize that our interests are menaced both in Europe and in the Far East.”
—Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882–1945)
