Scarborough College - Pre-School and Junior School

Pre-School and Junior School

Scarborough College's Pre-School and Junior School (previously known as Lisvane School) was moved on to the College main campus on Filey Road in 2002. It is housed in a modern, purpose-built building, separate from the College's historic main building. The Pre-School is led by Jackie Hunter and the Junior School is led by Dan Davey. It was announced in 2012, that the school was to merge with local prep-school Bramcote. The pupils will now study at the Scarborough College site, whilst Bramcote will be retained for its excellent sporting facilities. The school will be renamed 'Bramcote Junior School', in honour of Bramcote's long-established history.

Famous quotes containing the words junior and/or school:

The junior senator from Wisconsin, by his reckless charges, has so preyed upon the fears and hatreds and prejudices of the American people that he has started a prairie fire which neither he nor anyone else may be able to control.
    J. William Fulbright (b. 1905)

After school days are over, the girls ... find no natural connection between their school life and the new one on which they enter, and are apt to be aimless, if not listless, needing external stimulus, and finding it only prepared for them, it may be, in some form of social excitement. ...girls after leaving school need intellectual interests, well regulated and not encroaching on home duties.
    Ellen Henrietta Swallow Richards (1842–1911)
