College Festivals
SPCE and SPIT hosts their annual cultural festival named Space in February. It usually goes on for 3 days, and is heavily participated in by college students from across the city of Mumbai and the state of Maharashtra. It culminates in a live-wire performance by some of the most popular music bands/singers of the country and even abroad. Apart from Space, the colleges also organize events like Nirmaan in September every year. Also, there are many students bodies which drive their events on their own.

Famous quotes containing the words college and/or festivals:
“I never feel so conscious of my race as I do when I stand before a class of twenty-five young men and women eager to learn about what it is to be black in America.”
—Claire Oberon Garcia, African American college professor. As quoted in the Chronicle of Higher Education, p. B3 (July 27, 1994)
“This is certainly not the place for a discourse about what festivals are for. Discussions on this theme were plentiful during that phase of preparation and on the whole were fruitless. My experience is that discussion is fruitless. What sets forth and demonstrates is the sight of events in action, is living through these events and understanding them.”
—Doris Lessing (b. 1919)
