the Asian games of the 1982 were efficiently conducted by the Union government with Sardar Buta Singh as the head of the organizing committee and Rajiv Gandhi as it's member.He was selected for this work by the then Prime Minister Smt Indira Gandhi.This is said to be one of the most successful events conducted in India till date.He was credited to finish the work at time and for conducting the event in a smooth manner.
