Sarah-Jane Crawford - Charities

Charities

Crawford is frequently involved in campaigns run by the EJF (Environmental Justice Foundation). And In September 2012, Sarah-Jane completed the London to Brighton bike ride to raise money for them.

In June 2008, Crawford became a patron for the Teens Unite Fighting Cancer charity which is dedicated to improving the lives of young people aged between 13-24 with life limiting illnesses. Of the charity she commented: "When I found out about the charity I just knew it was something that I wanted to be involved in. I think that it's fantastic that Teens Unite do, and will continue to, support young people from the ages of 13-24, a group that can easily be misunderstood, and are often grouped in with young children or much older adults which may not be appropriate for them. Teens Unite has seen a void and got to work on it, consequently taking care of young people's needs during their toughest times." The charity was founded by fashion designer Karen Millen OBE.

Crawford also supports The National Autistic Society, and in September 2008 took part in the adidas Women's Challenge to help raise funds for the charity, and the Fibromyalgia Association UK, which raises awareness about Fibromyalgia in the UK.

Famous quotes containing the word charities:

The wonderful purity of nature at this season is a most pleasing fact.... In the bare fields and tinkling woods, see what virtue survives. In the coldest and bleakest places, the warmest charities still maintain a foothold.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
