Sandringham Railway Station - Facilities

Facilities

Sandringham is located on Station Street and at the southern end of the Abbott Street level crossing, with station access from the former.

The station consists of one side platform, with a large red brick building in the centre of the station, housing an enclosed waiting area, ticket facilities and toilets. Metcard ticket facilities have been removed as of June 2012 due to the progressive introduction of Myki. Two Myki ticket vending machines are located in the waiting area, which are able to dispense most ticketing options available, accepting notes, coins and cards which is in addition to station staff dispensing all ticket options.

A signal box is located at the Flinders Street end of the station, whilst a stabling yard is directly opposite to the station, stabling up to four trains overnight.

Famous quotes containing the word facilities:

I have always found that when men have exhausted their own resources, they fall back on “the intentions of the Creator.” But their platitudes have ceased to have any influence with those women who believe they have the same facilities for communication with the Divine mind as men have.
    Elizabeth Cady Stanton (1815–1902)

Marriage is good enough for the lower classes: they have facilities for desertion that are denied to us.
    George Bernard Shaw (1856–1950)
