Sam Newsome

Sam Newsome (b. April 28, 1965) is an American jazz saxophonist and composer. His music combines an eclectic mix of straight-ahead jazz, world music (drawing influences from North Africa and East Asia) and extended techniques. Newsome is assistant professor of jazz studies at Long Island University – Brooklyn Campus.
