Safina

The Safina (Swahili for "Ark") is a political party in Kenya. At the legislative elections on 27 December 2007, the party won 5 out of 210 elected seats. At the Kenyan general election, 2007, Safina part of the Party of National Unity led by President Mwai Kibaki. The Party Leader is Paul Kibugi Muite, a former Member of Parliament for Kabete constituency and a Senior Counsel at the Kenyan Bar. The Party Chairman is Hussein Mohamed Abdikadir, Member of Parliament for Mandera Central and Chairman of the Parliamentary Constitution Implementation Oversight Committee. The Safina party's highest organ is a National Executive Council which last met on December 10, 2009.
