Activities
The school ground is probably the largest in the Western suburbs. The school hosts its sporting event at the school grounds every year. Inter division football matches and mass drill are conducted on the school grounds. The school grounds, although not a public play ground, is open for school children to play until later evening (although this rule is not very strictly enforced and friends of students also join).
On Wednesdays the school conducts mass drill for all standards from 1st to 10th, around 2000 students assemble and the drill is conducted for around half an hour. One popular activity during the mass drill is the chance to beat the bass drum, for which every week the prefect of the senior classes (7-10) will be nominated to carry the drum from the sports store room and set it up and beat it while the exercises are done. A popular activity is to stand on a wooden bench in front of the 2000 students strong crowd and be the drill leader.
This school also conducts prayers on the stone ground on alternate days of week (except Thursday as it is a holiday).

Famous quotes containing the word activities:
“When mundane, lowly activities are at stake, too much insight is detrimentalfar-sightedness errs in immediate concerns.”
—Franz Grillparzer (17911872)
“Love and work are viewed and experienced as totally separate activities motivated by separate needs. Yet, when we think about it, our common sense tells us that our most inspired, creative acts are deeply tied to our need to love and that, when we lack love, we find it difficult to work creatively; that work without love is dead, mechanical, sheer competence without vitality, that love without work grows boring, monotonous, lacks depth and passion.”
—Marta Zahaykevich, Ucranian born-U.S. psychitrist. Critical Perspectives on Adult Womens Development, (1980)
“I am admonished in many ways that time is pushing me inexorably along. I am approaching the threshold of age; in 1977 I shall be 142. This is no time to be flitting about the earth. I must cease from the activities proper to youth and begin to take on the dignities and gravities and inertia proper to that season of honorable senility which is on its way.”
—Mark Twain [Samuel Langhorne Clemens] (18351910)
