Ruoholahti metro station (Finnish: Ruoholahden metroasema, Swedish: Gräsvikens metrostation) is a station on the Helsinki Metro. It serves the district of Ruoholahti in Helsinki's southwestern city centre. Ruoholahti is the westernmost metro station in Helsinki, and will continue to be until the extension to Espoo, known as Länsimetro ("Western Metro") under construction is brought into use.
The station was opened on 16 August 1993, designed by Jouko Kontio and Seppo Kilpiä. It is located 1.2 kilometres from the Kamppi metro station.
Famous quotes containing the word station:
“...I believe it is now the duty of the slaves of the South to rebuke their masters for their robbery, oppression and crime.... No station or character can destroy individual responsibility, in the matter of reproving sin.”
—Angelina Grimké (1805–1879)
