Famous quotes containing the word death:

In the deeper layers of the modern consciousness ... every attempt to succeed is an act of aggression, leaving one alone and guilty and defenseless among enemies: one is punished for success. Robert Warshow (1917–1955)

Our new Constitution is now established, and has an appearance that promises permanency; but in this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.
    Benjamin Franklin (1706–1790)

I want Death to find me planting my cabbages, neither worrying about it nor the unfinished gardening.
    Michel de Montaigne (1533–1592)
