Fallen Officers Remembered

Following his death, Rodney Pocceschi's sisters Jaclyn Pocceschi-Mosley and Gina Pocceschi-Boyle founded an organization named Fallen Officers Remembered that engages in a number of charitable activities, e.g. providing scholarships for criminal justice students, and working to provide bulletproof vests to police officers who do not already have them.

Famous quotes containing the words fallen, officers and/or remembered:

We then entered another swamp, at a necessarily slow pace, where the walking was worse than ever, not only on account of the water, but the fallen timber, which often obliterated the indistinct trail entirely. The fallen trees were so numerous, that for long distances the route was through a succession of small yards, where we climbed over fences as high as our heads, down into water often up to our knees, and then over another fence into a second yard, and so on.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

I then went to the Parade. I saw the King. It was a glorious sight.... As a loadstone moves needles, or a storm bows the lofty oaks, did Frederick the Great make the Prussian officers submissive bend as he walked majestic in the midst of them.
    James Boswell (1740–1795)

Within us, the people of the United States, there is evident a serious and purposeful rekindling of confidence, and I join in the hope that when my time as your President has ended, people might say this about our Nation: That we had remembered the words of Micah and renewed our search for humility, mercy, and justice.
Jimmy Carter (James Earl Carter, Jr.)
