Robot Arena 2: Design and Destroy - Havok Explosions and Glitches

Havok Explosions and Glitches

Issues with the newly designed Havok engine caused a phenomenon known as "Havok Explosions", which often sent robots flying, and would often cause a robot to land upside down (Usually immobilising it) or into arena hazards when attacked (with variables inclusive of course), sometimes resulting in an unfair victory of the other robot. Additionally, several glitches in the game itself decreased the accuracy of the game. Examples of these glitches included "overlapping by loading or eFFe'ing", which allowed several components on a robot to take up the same space, and "the chicken glitch", which allowed extremely rapid rotation of an object. These glitches allowed complicated and powerful robots to be made, and quickly became a staple of the community.

Famous quotes containing the word explosions:

Our Lamaze instructor . . . assured our class . . . that our cervix muscles would become “naturally numb” as they swelled and stretched, and deep breathing would turn the final explosions of pain into “manageable discomfort.” This descriptions turned out to be as accurate as, say a steward advising passengers aboard the Titanic to prepare for a brisk but bracing swim.
