Famous quotes containing the word recognition:

I waited and worked, and watched the inferior exalted for nearly thirty years; and when recognition came at last, it was too late to alter events, or to make a difference in living.
    Ellen Glasgow (1873–1945)

No democracy can long survive which does not accept as fundamental to its very existence the recognition of the rights of minorities.
    Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882–1945)

By now, legions of tireless essayists and op-ed columnists have dressed feminists down for making such a fuss about entering the professions and earning equal pay that everyone’s attention has been distracted from the important contributions of mothers working at home. Mary Kay Blakely (20th century)
