The Roanoke Shops (alt. East End Shops) is an active railroad workshop and maintenance facility for Norfolk Southern, and former steam locomotive builder, in Roanoke, Virginia. Producing locomotives exclusively for the Norfolk & Western Railway (N&W), it was the sole manufacturer of their steam locomotives between 1927 and 1952, and the manufacturer of the N&W J-class. A total of 447 locomotives were manufactured at Roanoke during a 70 year time span.
