Religion

In terms of creed, many Rendille practice a traditional religion centered on the worship of Waaq/Wakh. In the related Oromo culture, Waaq denotes the single god of the early pre-Abrahamic, montheistic faith believed to have been adhered to by Cushitic groups.

Some Rendille have also adopted Islam or Christianity.

Famous quotes containing the word religion:

One’s religion is whatever he is most interested in, and yours is Success.
    —J.M. (James Matthew)

Those to whom God has imparted religion by feeling of the heart are very fortunate and are rightly convinced. But to those who do not have it, we can give it only by reasoning, waiting for God to give it by feeling of the heart—without which faith is only human and useless for salvation.
    Blaise Pascal (1623–1662)

A heroic figure ... not wholly to blame for the religion that’s been foisted on him.
    Ezra Pound (1885–1972)
