Retirement
Dixon's retirement from the Tower did not mean retirement altogether. He was still broadcasting to a very large audience, and he was also on tour across the UK and Europe, fulfilling engagements with various organ societies and clubs, determined to see the organ's survival. While in Holland he was also on radio and TV, as well as making a new L.P. He also had requests from both USA and Australia to conduct tours.
Reginald Dixon died on 9 May 1985, and was cremated at Carleton Crematorium, Blackpool.
