Preview of Champions
Every year in late September, the Redlands High School Marching Band hosts a fundraiser called the Preview of Champions, now in its 30th year. It invites high school marching bands from southern California to present their halftime shows in a non-competitive environment prior to the competitive season. It was held at the Riverside Community College stadium every year, but starting in 2008, the band uses the high school's new 7.5 million dollar stadium. The competition features over 20 southern California marching bands. It also features the award-winning RCC Marching Tigers to close off the show each year. It is not counted towards SCSBOA records, but gives the chance to let the bands play a performance to see what they need to work on before the real competitions start.
