Recursive acronyms are not limited to computing terminology. For example:
- TIARA — TIARA is a recursive acronym
- GURGA - Group of Useless Recursive and Gurga Acronyms.
- Shavuot - שבעת is interpreted as also an acronym for Shavuot, Bikkurim, Atzeret, Torah, in Hasidic thought.
