RBC Bank, now part of PNC Bank, was the United States-based retail banking division of the Royal Bank of Canada. The headquarters for the bank was located in Raleigh, North Carolina. Banking centers and automated teller machines were located throughout the Southeastern United States. The company's largest operations were in North Carolina and Alabama.
On June 19, 2011, PNC Financial Services agreed to buy RBC Bank USA from Royal Bank of Canada for $3.45 billion. The sale of RBC Bank was expected to close in March 2012, subject to receipt of regulatory approval and customary closing conditions. Upon acquisition, all RBC Bank branches will be rebranded as PNC branches and the RBC Bank brand will become dormant for US customers. (A Canadian division is set up in Georgia for Canadian accounts)

Famous quotes containing the word bank:
“The prairies were dust. Day after day, summer after summer, the scorching winds blew the dust and the sun was brassy in a yellow sky. Crop after crop failed. Again and again the barren land must be mortgaged for taxes and food and next years seed. The agony of hope ended when there was not harvest and no more credit, no money to pay interest and taxes; the banker took the land. Then the bank failed.”
