Ragged Mountain Resort - Renovations

Renovations

Ragged Mountain was purchased in 2007 by RMR-Pacific, LLC, an affiliate of Utah resort developer Pacific Group. The ownership group invested over $3 million in renovations including lodge renovations, upgrades to the snowmaking capacity, and several new dining options, including a brick oven pizzeria and tavern located in the west lodge.

Renovations in 2008 included increased water for snowmaking, a larger grooming fleet, more glade skiing, an all-new restaurant (the “Overlook Bistro”) and terrain park (“Wild Woods”). The Overlook Bistro offers upscale dining in the upstairs of the base lodge, while Wild Woods gives snowboarders an all-natural terrain park featuring natural cliff drops.

In 2011, significant snowmaking upgrades were added to the resort, including a fully automated system on the popular trail, Flying Yankee. An additional 100 new low-energy, high-efficiency snow guns and a new snow groomer were also added.

In May 2012, Ragged Mountain announced that they would move forward with their development process, with first projects including replacing the existing Spear Mountain triple with a high speed quad, significant snowmaking upgrades, a new lodge, and a 43-unit hotel at the base of the resort. Although no construction has begun yet, signs point for these plans to begin mid summer 2012.
