The World
The gameworld of the series is called Gloriana and is basically a fairy tale mirror version of Earth. Countries and continents explored in the Games are Spielburg (Game 1; German folklore), Shapeir (Game 2; Arabia of 1001 Nights), Tarna (Game 3; African mythology, esp. Egypt), Mordavia (Game 4; Slavic mythology) and Silmaria (Game 5; Greek mythology). Adventures, Monsters and Story of the games are usually drawn from legends of the respective mirrored region, although there are several cross-over exceptions, like the eastern European Baba Yaga that also appears in the first game.

Famous quotes containing the words the world and/or world:
“Upon entering my vein, the drug would start a warm edge that would surge along until the brain consumed it in a gentle explosion. It began in the back of the neck and rose rapidly until I felt such pleasure that the world sympathizing took on a soft, lofty appeal.”
—Gus Van Sant, U.S. screenwriter and director, and Dan Yost. Bob Hughes (Matt Dillon)
“As one who knows many things, the humanist loves the world precisely because of its manifold nature and the opposing forces in it do not frighten him. Nothing is further from him than the desire to resolve such conflicts ... and this is precisely the mark of the humanist spirit: not to evaluate contrasts as hostility but to seek human unity, that superior unity, for all that appears irreconcilable.”
—Stefan Zweig (18811942)
“Topographically the country is magnificentand terrifying. Why terrifying? Because nowhere else in the world is the divorce between man and nature so complete. Nowhere have I encountered such a dull, monotonous fabric of life as here in America. Here boredom reaches its peak.”
—Henry Miller (18911980)
