Quake Minus One - User Reception

User Reception

Although a highly anticipated title, Quake Minus One wasn't well received. Although it won praise for its clear graphics and the sophistication of the interface, users often felt overwhelmed by what was going on and many made little to no progress with the game. The robots were cumbersome to operate and the joystick interface was difficult to use.

Famous quotes containing the words user and/or reception:

A worker may be the hammer’s master, but the hammer still prevails. A tool knows exactly how it is meant to be handled, while the user of the tool can only have an approximate idea.
    Milan Kundera (b. 1929)

He’s leaving Germany by special request of the Nazi government. First he sends a dispatch about Danzig and how 10,000 German tourists are pouring into the city every day with butterfly nets in their hands and submachine guns in their knapsacks. They warn him right then. What does he do next? Goes to a reception at von Ribbentropf’s and keeps yelling for gefilte fish!
    Billy Wilder (b. 1906)
