Famous quotes containing the word content:

Life must be filled up, and the man who is not capable of intellectual pleasures must content himself with such as his senses can afford.
    Samuel Johnson (1709–1784)

Any so-called material thing that you want is merely a symbol: you want it not for itself, but because it will content your spirit for the moment.
Mark Twain [Samuel Langhorne Clemens] (1835–1910)

Let us have a fair field! This is all we ask, and we will be content with nothing less. The finger of evolution, which touches everything, is laid tenderly upon women.
