The Shark Shield Product Range
The KwaZulu-Natal Sharks Board ceased distribution of the SharkPOD in 2001. Rights to use the intellectual property were licensed to a South Australian based company, SeaChange Technology Pty Ltd (renamed as Shark Shield Pty Ltd in October 2006) who launched a product line under the brand name Shark Shield in April 2002.
In 2007 Shark Shield introduced the SCUBA7 as a replacement for the FREEDOM4. The company also introduced new designs, the FREEDOM7 for free diving, snorkeling or kayak fishing, and the SURF7 designed to be fitted on a surfboard or paddleboard.
