Famous quotes containing the words big, boot and/or combination:
“Im quite as big for me, said he,
As you are big for you.”
—John Kendrick Bangs (18621922)
“... until the shopkeeper plants his boot in our eyes,
and unties our bone and is finished with the case,
and turns to the next customer, forgetting our face
or how we knelt at the yellow bulb with sighs
like moth wings for a short while in a small place.”
—Anne Sexton (19281974)
“So of the three methods: reason, sense, or a knowing combination of both, the last seems the least like a winner, the second problematic; only the first has some slim chance of succeeding through sheer perversity, which is possibly the only way to succeed at all.”
—John Ashbery (b. 1927)
