Two immigration lawyers, Gary Endelman* and Cyrus D. Mehta, published an article named "The Tyranny of Priority Dates". The article explores several legally-possible approaches to make the waiting process less harsh for Employment-based petitioners. However, this article has been largely overlooked by legistlators, USCIS, the Visa Office of Department of State, and even the Employment-based petitioners themselves.

Famous quotes containing the words legal and/or studies:

We should stop looking to law to provide the final answer.... Law cannot save us from ourselves.... We have to go out and try to accomplish our goals and resolve disagreements by doing what we think is right. That energy and resourcefulness, not millions of legal cubicles, is what was great about America. Let judgment and personal conviction be important again.
Philip K. Howard, U.S. lawyer. The Death of Common Sense: How Law Is Suffocating America, pp. 186-87, Random House (1994)

The best laws cannot make a constitution work in spite of morals; morals can turn the worst laws to advantage. That is a commonplace truth, but one to which my studies are always bringing me back. It is the central point in my conception. I see it at the end of all my reflections.
    Alexis de Tocqueville (1805–1859)
