The Premier League Golden Glove is an annual association football award that is won by the goalkeeper who has kept the most clean sheets in that season's Premier League. Petr Čech won the first edition of the award with 21 clean sheets in the Premier League, a record later equalled by Edwin van der Sar. Pepe Reina, and Joe Hart have both won the award three times consecutively.
Famous quotes containing the words league and/or golden:
“Were the victims of a disease called social prejudice, my child. These dear ladies of the law and order league are scouring out the dregs of the town. Cmon be a glorified wreck like me.”
—Dudley Nichols (18951960)
“He hangs in shades the orange bright,
Like golden lamps in a green night,
And does in the pomegranates close
Jewels more rich than Ormus shows;
He makes the figs our mouths to meet,
And throws the melons at our feet;
But apples plants of such a price
No tree could ever bear them twice.”
—Andrew Marvell (16211678)
