Health

Chicken meat contains about two to three times as much polyunsaturated fat as most types of red meat when measured by weight. However, for boneless, skinless chicken breast, the amount is much lower. A 100g serving of baked chicken breast contains 4 grams of fat and 31 grams of protein, compared to 10 grams of fat and 27 grams of protein for the same portion of broiled, lean skirt steak.

A recent study by the Translational Genomics Research Institute showed that 47% of the meat and poultry in U.S. grocery stores were contaminated with S. aureus, and 52% of those bacteria were resistant to antibiotics.

Famous quotes containing the word health:

To safeguard one’s health at the cost of too strict a diet is a tiresome illness indeed.

I hold it that a little rebellion, now and then, is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical.... It is a medicine necessary for the sound health of government.
    Thomas Jefferson (1743–1826)

The same soil is good for men and for trees. A man’s health requires as many acres of meadow to his prospect as his farm does loads of muck.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
