Administrative Divisions
Bahrain is divided in to five governorates for administrative purposes:
- Capital Governorate
- Central Governorate
- Muharraq Governorate
- Northern Governorate
- Southern Governorate
Each governorate has an appointed governor and an elected municipal council.
