Michael Gove went on to become Secretary of State for Education. Charles Moore, former editor of the Spectator and the Daily Telegraph took over as Chairman. In May 2007, Nicholas Boles was replaced by former Times correspondent Anthony Browne. Browne was in turn succeeded in August 2008 by Neil O'Brien. O'Brien stepped down in January 2013 to serve at the Treasury as George Osborne's special adviser, being replaced after a short period by long-standing head of Policy Exchange's security unit Dean Godson.
