Growth of The Bacterial Culture
Plasmids are almost always purified from liquid bacteria cultures, usually E. coli, which have been transformed and isolated. “I conceive that the leading characteristic of the nineteenth century has been the rapid growth of the scientific spirit, the consequent application of scientific methods of investigation to all the problems with which the human mind is occupied, and the correlative rejection of traditional beliefs which have proved their incompetence to bear such investigation.”

“Hence, the less government we have, the better, the fewer laws, and the less confided power. The antidote to this abuse of formal Government, is, the influence of private character, the growth of the Individual; the appearance of the principal to supersede the proxy; the appearance of the wise man, of whom the existing government, is, it must be owned, but a shabby imitation.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
“A mans growth is seen in the successive choirs of his friends. For every friend whom he loses for truth, he gains a better.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
“Our culture has become something that is completely and utterly in love with its parent. Its become a notion of boredom that is bought and sold, where nothing will happen except that people will become more and more terrified of tomorrow, because the new continues to look old, and the old will always look cute.”
—Malcolm McLaren (b. 1946)
