Philippa Perry - Life

Life

Philippa Perry was born in 1957, in Warrington, Cheshire, and educated at boarding school and at a Swiss finishing school. She worked as a litigation clerk, an enquiry agent, a McDonalds’ employee and she also went to Middlesex Polytechnic and gained a degree in Fine Art as a mature student. Married to Turner Prize winner, Grayson Perry in 1992, she is often asked what it is like being married to a transvestite - “Being the wife of a trannie is great, he always makes me look fantastic”. When asked the same question by a Buckingham Palace Press Officer when the Perrys went to a reception there in 2005 she said, "As obsessions go, it's better than football".

Famous quotes containing the word life:

... the opportunity offered by life to women is far in excess of any offered to men. To be the inspiration is more than to be the tool. To create the world, a greater thing than to reform it.
    Alice Foote MacDougall (1867–1945)

Being so wrong about her makes me wonder now how often I am utterly wrong about myself. And how wrong she might have been about her mother, how wrong he might have been about his father, how much of family life is a vast web of misunderstandings, a tinted and touched-up family portrait, an accurate representation of fact that leaves out only the essential truth.
    Anna Quindlen (b. 1952)

... it is the greatest of all mistakes to begin life with the expectation that it is going to be easy, or with the wish to have it so.
    Lucy Larcom (1824–1893)
