Wolf studied painting as a boy in Stockbridge, Massachusetts with Norman Rockwell.
He was a roommate of filmmaker David Lynch at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
Wolf was married to actress Faye Dunaway from 1974 to 1979.
