Percy The Small Engine - Percy in The Television Series

Percy in The Television Series

In the Thomas and Friends television series, Percy made his debut in the first season, in an episode called "Trouble in the Shed" which originally aired in 1984.

Out of all the engines, Percy holds the unwanted record of having the most accidents in a series of Thomas and Friends. In series 2, Percy had 5 accidents in "Thomas, Percy and the Coal", "Percy Takes The Plunge", "Percy's Predicament", "Ghost Train", and "Woolly Bear".

His personality has been kept the same, up until about Season 8 when he became more curious about the world around; almost in resemblance to Sesame Street's Elmo. He particularly enjoys pulling the mail train.

From the CGI series version onward, in the US, Percy is voiced by Martin Sherman. In the UK, he is voiced by Keith Wickham.

Famous quotes containing the words television and/or series:

Cultural expectations shade and color the images that parents- to-be form. The baby product ads, showing a woman serenely holding her child, looking blissfully and mysteriously contented, or the television parents, wisely and humorously solving problems, influence parents-to-be.
    Ellen Galinsky (20th century)

Every Age has its own peculiar faith.... Any attempt to translate into facts the mission of one Age with the machinery of another, can only end in an indefinite series of abortive efforts. Defeated by the utter want of proportion between the means and the end, such attempts might produce martyrs, but never lead to victory.
    Giuseppe Mazzini (1805–1872)
