Contemporary Issues
The Peace River Airport Steering Committee has been set up to assess viability and regionalization potential of the airport. The committee has representatives from The Town of Peace River, Northern Sunrise County, M.D. of Peace, County of Northern Lights and the Town of Grimshaw, and is working on a business plan.
The 5,000 ft (1,500 m) long Runway 04/22 would be able to accommodate a Boeing 737-600, 737-700 and 737-800 equipped with a short-field design package. Any further extensions to the runway, to enable handling larger aircraft, would have to contend with either Strong Creek's ravine to the west or Highway 2 on the opposite side of the runway. A tributary of St. Germaine Creek cuts a ravine just to the east of the airport.

Famous quotes containing the words contemporary and/or issues:
“The shift from the perception of the child as innocent to the perception of the child as competent has greatly increased the demands on contemporary children for maturity, for participating in competitive sports, for early academic achievement, and for protecting themselves against adults who might do them harm. While children might be able to cope with any one of those demands taken singly, taken together they often exceed childrens adaptive capacity.”
—David Elkind (20th century)
“To make life more bearable and pleasant for everybody, choose the issues that are significant enough to fight over, and ignore or use distraction for those you can let slide that day. Picking your battles will eliminate a number of conflicts, and yet will still leave you feeling in control.”
—Lawrence Balter (20th century)
