Petersen has been married three times. First to actress Brenda Benet (June 27, 1967 - 1970). then to Hallie Litman (1974 - 1988) together they had two children. Since December 27, 1992. Petersen has been married to Rana Jo Platz. Paul also has a daughter from a relationship born in 1987.
