Paktika Province

Paktika (Persian/Pashto: پکتیکا‎) is one of the 34 provinces of Afghanistan. It is in the south-east of the country and maintains a traditional Pashtun tribal social structure. Paktika holds the reputation as being one of Afghanistan's most conservative provinces next to Helmand. Most of the population consists of Sunni Muslim Pashtuns. Its capital is Sharana.
