History
Oxhey Jets were established in 1972 as a boys team, eventually moving to the local Watford leagues when they became a mens team. They joined the Herts County League Division One in 1981. Three seasons after joining the Herts County League they were promoted to the Premier Division, however afer two seasons in the top division were relegated back to division one. At the end of the 1988–89 season the club were once again promoted to the premier division. The club would then go onto win the Premier Division in the 2000–01 season, they then repeated the title win for the next two seasons. The 2003–04 season saw the club finish as runners-up and this with the previous three league wins earned them promotion to the Spartan South Midlands League.
The 2004–05 season saw the club gain its second successive promotion when at the first attempt they were Spartan South Midlands League Division One Champions. The club now in the Premier division saw them make their debut in the FA Cup for the 2005–06 season, losing to Lowestoft Town in the Preliminary qualifying round. On 29 February 2012, Oxhey Jets became only the second ever Spartan South Midland team to reach the final of the Herts Senior Cup, when they overcame Cheshunt 4–3 on penalties in the Semi-Final. They then lost 7–2 in the final to Bishop's Stortford.

Famous quotes containing the word history:
“There is a constant in the average American imagination and taste, for which the past must be preserved and celebrated in full-scale authentic copy; a philosophy of immortality as duplication. It dominates the relation with the self, with the past, not infrequently with the present, always with History and, even, with the European tradition.”
—Umberto Eco (b. 1932)
“Regarding History as the slaughter-bench at which the happiness of peoples, the wisdom of States, and the virtue of individuals have been victimizedthe question involuntarily arisesto what principle, to what final aim these enormous sacrifices have been offered.”
—Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel (17701831)
“The history of reform is always identical; it is the comparison of the idea with the fact. Our modes of living are not agreeable to our imagination. We suspect they are unworthy. We arraign our daily employments.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
