Tips and Tricks

In Hell mode you can only fly the F-1, and have limited ammo. To change this so you can fly any aircraft and have unlimited ammo simply do as follows. - Complete the first mission in Hell Mode - Go to the main menu - Select "Load Game" - Go to your saved game - Select Edit profile - Change your Pilot's name to something else - Save - Go to the Campaign and you now will have all your Aircraft unlocked as well as infinite ammo

To get the last aircraft in Over-G you must gain the Best Guy, Predator, or Top Gun rank. To do this quickly and easily get a friend and join a ranked match and get on separate teams. You should both fly F-15Ds. Have your friend weaken each AI base while you finish the bases off for the points. When your friend is out of ammo kill him for a bonus in points. Once both AI bases are destroyed your friend can then weaken his own tower and you can finish it off. If you start as a Greenhorn it will take 3-4 runs to get one of the required ranks.

In Over-G your pilot gains skills based on how he flies. There are really only three skills that make any difference. One of them is evasion and is the most difficult to skill up under normal conditions. You do not want to wait to long to raise this skill up because you pilot can max out his total skill points. This will prevent you from getting the important skills to max. To get evasion to the highest easily and quickly here is something you can do. Get Four friends online and into a Vs match. Get every one into F-22s loaded with the max amount of AIM-120Bs. Have your friends fly a tight formation 15 nm+ directly in front of you. Have each of them fire 10x AIM-120Bs at you all at once in all 40x AIM-120Bs coming at you. Evade them all in whatever way you know how as long as you do not turn tail and run from them! It only counts if the missiles pose a threat to you so running is NOT going to get you points. When you evade all of them reset and fire off the last volley. Once they are out of missiles crash into the ground and reset. Repeat this as you need; at first you will gain 3-7 points in evasion at a time. As your skill gets higher the points will decrease.

If you find yourself behind an enemy while he explodes, there is a chance that his aircraft parts will be sucked into your aircraft's intake. When this happens your engines fail and they will become useless. To fix this you must have at least 250kts and a good deal of altitude. Point your nose down and begin cycling your engine power from maximum power to idle. If you keep your air speed over 250kts your engines will eventually restart and function normally. This is also how you fix your engines should you remain upside down for too long and suffer an engine failure. If not you will crash into the ground and explode in a fireball. Unless you are lucky enough to be able to land your aircraft on a runway or aircraft carrier (seen it done before, very lucky pilot).

Famous quotes containing the words tips and/or tricks:

Romeo. Lady, by yonder blessed moon I vow,
That tips with silver all these fruit tree tops—
Juliet. O, swear not by the moon, th’ inconstant moon,
That monthly changes in her circled orb,
Lest that thy love prove likewise variable.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

The tragic hero prefers death to prudence. The comedian prefers playing tricks to winning. Only the villain really plays to win.
    Mason Cooley (b. 1927)
