Ottaviano

Ottaviano is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Naples in the Italian region Campania, located about 20 km east of Naples and is located in the Vesuvian Area. Ottaviano was in Roman times a hamlet of houses within a vast estate (praedium Octaviorum) belonging to the gens Octavia, Augustus's family. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 23,572 and an area of 19.8 km².
