Coffee Chains
Two competing coffee chains have outlets in several cities that Alex visits. Its branch managers hire him to sabotage their opponent's franchise or promote their own. Famous quotes containing the words coffee and/or chains:
“It is extraordinary how the house and the simplest possessions of someone who has been left become so quickly sordid.... Even the stain on the coffee cup seems not coffee but the physical manifestation of ones inner stain, the fatal blot that from the beginning had marked one for ultimate aloneness.”
—Coleman Dowell (19251985)
“Of all men living [priests] are our greatest enemies. If it were possible, they would extinguish the very light of nature, turn the world into a dungeon, and keep mankind for ever in chains and darkness.”
—George Berkeley (16851753)
