Background
According to Clarkson, "One Minute" was originally planned to be on her second studio album Breakaway, but the song did not make it to the final tracklisting. However, Clarkson revised the lyrics and added the song to the tracklisting of My December.
Clarkson premiered the song at Nascar's Daytona 500 on February 18, 2007. It was intended to be the first single from My December.
